"My husband and I commissioned Tommy to do a large painting for our apartment. He visited our apartment on a couple of occasions to sit down with us to discuss the work. What he delivered was nothing short of amazing. And he assisted us with the tricky installation process."

Commissioned in 2016, this work was developed for clients who encountered my VOYAGE exhibition and sought to translate its energy into a permanent, site-specific presence within their home. Rather than replicating the exhibition, the artwork distils its emotional and spatial impact into a single integrated piece designed to sit in dialogue with the architecture, materials and colour palette of the space.

Conceived as a fully light-reactive work, the piece incorporates phosphorescent media that reveals luminous layers as lighting shifts from day to evening. Installed above the staircase, the 240 × 160 cm artwork unfolds vertically as one ascends, acting as a threshold between levels. The project reflects my approach to commissioned work—using light and movement to create environments that are experienced over time, not simply observed.
