Throsby Project x Natura Homes
The Throsby project served as the foundational step in designing my first in-wall architectural art system. Conceived for a high-performance passive house and commissioned early in construction, the four metre tall back-lit installation was designed as the central feature of the home—allowing the artwork itself to define the spatial and emotional character of the entire main living space.
Delivered alongside the build, the work was embedded directly into the architecture through custom framing and a dedicated, dimmable lighting system.
This approach positioned the artwork as a structural element rather than an applied feature. Cascades established a critical precedent in my practice and received attention in the industry for its innovation, demonstrating how integrated, light-driven artworks can shape atmosphere and experience from within the wall—forming the conceptual and technical blueprint for my architectural art systems today.
